Pre-K Fours

The Pre-K program engages students in learning opportunities that promote kindergarten readiness, such as cooperation, communication, and active learning. Children focus on concepts such as number recognition, identification of both upper and lower-case letters, the relationship between sounds and written symbols, recognition of child’s name in print as well as many common sight words

  • We use a combination of the Creative Curriculum and Fundations.
  • Small and large group learning opportunities that develop social skills and positive self-esteem and foster kindness
  • A language-rich environment that promotes reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • Our classrooms are rich with Books, pictures, labels, writing stations, and other materials that support emergent literacy, science and art, math, puzzles and blocks, and dramatic play
  • Our classrooms have many different manipulatives (small table toys) that help children learn about abstract concepts in concrete ways. These also help with Foundational math skills like counting and sorting or science skills like balance and weight.
  • Classes have a science and discovery area where we bring nature into the classroom and explore natural elements in the world.
  • Learning opportunities that encourage fine and gross motor development.

The education your child experiences during this year is the foundation for their future academic success.  The kindergarten class is for children who turn 5 on or before October 1st.  Our kindergarten core curriculum covers mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and public speaking. Our enrichment curriculum includes swim lessons once every other week by a certified swim instructor, a Physical education class once a week with a Physical education teacher, an introduction to the Spanish language taught by a teacher from Argentina, and an introduction to the state of Israel, the tradition of the Jewish holidays and the Hebrew language through our Jewish studies program taught by our Jewish Educator.

  • We use a combination of the Creative Curriculum and Fundations.
  • Classes are taught by 1 full-time certified teacher who partners with 1 full-time teaching assistant.
  • Smaller class sizes allow for more individual attention for your child.
  • The needs and ability of your child drives the learning process and pace of learning. Our teachers continually observe and assess your child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth and work to achieve the best learning outcomes for your child.
  • Our curriculum exceeds the knowledge and skill requirements for kindergarten as outlined by New Jersey State standards.
