J Stage THEATRE PROGRAM

JStage was created as a way to enrich our community with theatre, and the performing arts! Our programs provide training with an industry professional who has acting experience and expertise in both screen, and stage acting, as well as, directing youth theatre. We offer acting classes, audition opportunities, as well as a wide range of exciting enrichment options that rotate on a seasonal basis. Some examples of these enrichments include: musical theatre, Disney Broadway review, improvisation, acting for the screen, commercial workshop, and much much more.

We also offer internships in theatre for older teens, as well as crew opportunities for both creative kids or parents who want to volunteer their time to help out! All of these programs are available for youth and teen performers and are perfect for both serious and amateur actors alike. We are excited to offer this variety of programs and shows, to both the existing JCC family of parents and students, as well as to new families who want a wider variety of programming in the theatrical arts.

Here at JStage, we encourage our actors to make big choices and use their imagination. Through our program, actors will learn the creative process, vocal preparation, audition technique and much much more. Theatre can be wonderful and fun for people of all ages. It is exciting to be in shows and perform, but also, for young people to gain a sense of community and belonging, and to build confidence that will last a lifetime!

Please check out the following example class schedule below. For more information about auditioning for one of our shows, please click on the show you are interested in, for more information. As always you can contact our theatre director, Samantha Gelnaw Lang, at sgelnawlang@ssbjcc.org
