Registration is underway for a Mah Jongg Tournament Thursday, July 11 at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC). The community is invited to participate in the event which benefits JCC Special Needs programs and services and will be held at the JCC, located at 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater, New Jersey. The registration fee is $55 per person and includes six rounds of play, light breakfast, lunch and snacks. Doors open at 9:30 AM and the tournament begins promptly at 10:14 AM. Tournament rules are provided by the Mah Jongg League. Participants are requested to register by July 3 calling 908-725-6994 x9018 or on line at ssbjcc.org.
The JCC offers a variety of special needs programs including The J-Zone Respite Program for children ages 5-16, J-Cares Adult Intern Program, J-Connect Social Programs for Adults, Adaptive Aquatics Skills Program and the Rising Tide Special Olympics Swim Team. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center, JCC Camp Ruach and J-Crew After School Program work with families with children with special needs. The JCC offers adjusted schedules and one-on-one assistance. The Adler Aphasia Center Support Groups also meet at the JCC.
