According to Joy McIntyre, JCC Fitness Director, “We are very excited about bringing this event to our local community, which will offer competitors the opportunity to showcase their talents. We hope that our Fitness Expo inspires the community to learn more about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and not to let any limitation hold an individual back from attaining their goals.”
The keynote speaker will be Nick Scott, Founder and CEO President of Wheelchair Bodybuilding IFFB & NPC, who will speak at 12 Noon. Mr. Scott is a professional speaker, author, professional bodybuilder, wheelchair ballroom dancer, and personal trainer. He will speak on how he turned his personal tragedy into motivation, and how he didn’t let a wheelchair stop him from achieving both his fitness and life goals. Additional lectures will be given by Kara Kilian M.S., a coach, mentor, and master of physiology, and by Dr. Ken Kearstan with Total Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine LLC, a clinic that strives to reduce pain, restore function, and improve one’s quality of life after injury. Bodybuilding competitors will be judged in a show at 1:00 PM, which is open to all competitors and spectators who have registered. At the culmination of the event, attendees and competitors are invited to attend a Barbeque and Beer Reception. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. General admission for the event is $40/Person, and admission for JCC members is $35/Person. Children ages 12 and under are free to attend and participate in kid-friendly events.
