Join us as we come together in remembrance, reflection, and community to mark the anniversary of October 7.
We will screen Safe Room, a powerful documentary that tells the remarkable true story of Dr. Gedalya Fendel, who rescued civilians fleeing the October 7 attacks and brought them into his family’s home near the Gaza border. Inside that home, grandparents, children, a pregnant couple, and families who had endured unimaginable loss found shelter together as violence unfolded outside.
What began as a place of refuge became something more. Through hours of fear and uncertainty, strangers cared for one another, shared what they had, and formed bonds that would remain long after that day ended.
Safe Room is a deeply human story of courage, compassion, resilience, and hope in the face of tragedy. Please join the SSBJCC community as we remember those who were lost, honor those forever changed, and gather together in strength and solidarity.
The program is FREE but you must pre-register to attend.
