Join us for a special evening of film, food, and conversation as the Irma Horowitz Film Series presents Tovah, a feature-length documentary celebrating the extraordinary career and lasting impact of acclaimed actress Tovah Feldshuh.

From her unforgettable portrayal of Golda Meir in Broadway’s Golda’s Balcony to memorable television roles in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Nobody Wants This, Feldshuh has built a remarkable career across stage and screen.

The evening begins with dinner at 6:30 PM, followed by the film at 7:00 PM. Director and producer David Serero will be joining us in person to introduce the film and lead a special Q&A following the screening.

Synoposis

Tovah is an intimate and star-studded documentary celebrating the remarkable life and career of Tovah Feldshuh, one of American theater’s most acclaimed and enduring performers.

Directed by David Serero, the film traces Feldshuh’s journey from a daring young actress to a Broadway legend and cultural icon. Through rare archival footage, behind-the-scenes access, and exclusive interviews, Tovah explores the determination, intelligence, humor, and uncompromising artistic standards that have shaped her extraordinary five-decade career.

The documentary looks back at Feldshuh’s celebrated work on stage and screen, including her groundbreaking portrayal of Golda Meir, while examining her lasting influence on generations of performers. Friends, colleagues, and fellow artists including Dustin Hoffman, Patti LuPone, Oscar Isaac, Kristen Bell, Stephen Schwartz, Peter Gallagher, Adam Brody, Rachel Bloom, Katie Couric, and Joy Behar share their perspectives on the performer and person behind the roles.

More than a career retrospective, Tovah is a portrait of an artist whose passion for her craft has carried her from Broadway to Hollywood and television while remaining unmistakably her own.
