This class is open to both typically developing dancers and dancers with special needs. The class allows kids of all ages and abilities to experience the mental and physical perks of dance class, all while having a blast with positive peer models.
All potential dancers will participate in an intake meeting to determine what class fits them best. The intake process will be led by Rachel Glassman, special education teacher/dance teacher, and Ellie Willoughby, special services director for the JCC.
Both dance classes are an opportunity for dancers with special needs to express themselves through dance and movement. They are both taught by a special education teacher who will make sure the class fits the needs of the children in it. These classes are an opportunity for dancers with special needs that are not able to partake in a typical dance class to have a safe place to express their creative movements while having the support of a special education teacher.
