Bridgewater, NJ — The JCC Bridgewater Tide Swim Team has promoted David White to Head Coach, it was announced by Carole Webb, JCC Sports & Recreation Director and Swim Team Director. The appointment is effective immediately. As Head Coach, David is responsible for the overall direction of the Bridgewater Tide Swim Team, including coaching the top level swimmers and managing the coaching staff.
According to Ms. Webb, “We are very fortunate to have David White as our Head Coach. David is well liked and respected by our Swim Team families, and his leadership skills make him extremely qualified to lead our team and the Tide swimmers. We look forward to our team growing, and under David’s direction, the Bridgewater Tide providing a strong swim and sports experience for young swimmers.”
David joined the JCC Bridgewater Tide in May 2017 as Head Age Group Coach from The FISH, a USA swim team in McLean, VA, where he was a full-time assistant coach. While David was working with The FISH, the team earned USA Silver Medal Club awards for two straight years, an award reserved only for the best 100 teams in the country. David had the opportunity to coach Olympic Trial qualifiers, as well as many Eastern Zone All-Stars and National Top 10 swimmers. David is an ASCA Level 3 certified coach. He grew up in Flemington, NJ, where he swam for a local USA team. He held over 20 team records, and was a multiple individual state-champion and YMCA National Top 16 swimmer. David also swam competitively at Stony Brook University.
The Bridgewater Tide is a year round competitive swim team affiliated with USA Swimming. The Tide provides instruction and training to a variety of skill levels, and the swimmers compete in a range of local, state, and national meets. The team is comprised of approximately 125 swimmers, ranging in age from 6-18, and ability ranges from novice through regional level competitors. Swimmers are grouped based on age, ability and commitment level, with programs devised at each level to meet the needs of the team’s varied athletes. The team competes in meets throughout New Jersey and on occasion in the extended region. The Bridgewater Tide is now accepting registrations for a Pre-Competitive Program beginning in March. Tryouts for the Long Course Season will take place at the end of March.
