The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Bridgewater will be hosting the 5th Annual Superhero & Fairytale 5K Race on Sunday, June 2. The race will take place at the JCC, rain or shine. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM and the race begins promptly at 9:00 AM. A 24 Meter A Kids Dash begins at 9:15 AM . Strollers are welcome! The community is invited to participate in the 5K, which is a fundraising initiative led by a committee of Teens and Adults at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum JCC. All proceeds will benefit JCC Special Needs Programs for Children and Adults.
The 5K registration fee is $30 per person if received by May 5, or $35/Person after May 5. The Kids Dash registration fee is $15/Child. The registration fee for the 5K and Kids Dash include a post-race “Brunch & Bond”. Register at ssbjcc.org/5K2019. The JCC offers a variety of special needs programs including The J-Zone Respite Program for children ages 5-16, J-Cares Adult Internship Program, J-Connect Social Programs for Adults, Adaptive Aquatics Skills Program and the Rising Tide Special Olympics Swim Team. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center, JCC Camp Ruach and J-Crew After School Program work with families with children with special needs. The JCC offers adjusted schedules and one-on-one assistance. The Adler Aphasia Center Support Groups meet at the JCC. The JCC is a social service agency that serves residents of all ages residing in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, providing fitness, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs for the entire community. The facility includes an indoor salt based heated pool, outdoor salt based heated pool with dome enclosure during the off season, gymnasium, newly renovated and expanded fitness center featuring a functional fitness training studio, cardio theatre, spin studio, Group X studio, and JFitGround outdoor adult fitness training facility. Kids and Teen Fitness Programs, including Personal Training, are offered. The JCC offers a wide variety of adult educational programs including lectures, film series and trips. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center provides childcare for ages six weeks through full day Kindergarten and the J-Crew After School Program is open to children in Grades K-6. JCC Camp Ruach is the JCC’s summer day camp for children ages two years through 9th Grade. The JCC also offers a variety of one-week Specialty Camps.
