How It Works: In-Person 5K

 

The JCC in Bridgewater is hosting our annual Superhero Race at the JCC on Sunday, May 23, 2021. The race will take place at the JCC, rain or shine, as well as virtually this year. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM and the race begins at 9:00 AM. Strollers are welcome! The community is invited to participate in these events, a fundraising initiative led by a committee of Teens and Adults at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum JCC. All proceeds will benefit JCC Special Needs Programs for Children and Adults, while honoring our JCC Superhero Mentors and all essential workers in our community.

  • In-Person 5K: Before April 30: $25
  • In-Person 5K: After April 30: $30
  • In-Person 5K: Day of: $35
  • In-Person Kids Dash: $15
  • In-Person Adults Functional Training Challenge: Free
  • Virtual 5K: $25
  • Virtual 10K: $30
  • Virtual 15K: $40
  • Scavenger Hunt: $10

The registration fee for the In-Person 5K, Kids Dash and Adults Functional Training Challenge includes a post-race “Brunch & Bond”. The 25-meter Kids Dash and Adults Functional Training Challenge to follow the in-person 5K. Registrations received by 5/5/21 guaranteed a t-shirt. Medals will be awarded to various age groups, male and female. Online waiver required for in-person event participation.

How It Works: Virtual Race

 

From May 12- May 22, 2021 you have as many opportunities as you would like to complete your race. You may walk, jog, run, or even treadmill your way to the finish! Using your phone to track your progress, once you’ve achieved your personal best you must screenshot evidence of your completed distance and time and email your results along with a picture of yourself in the race t-shirt and bib (if applicable) to Jessica, jkichura@ssbjcc.org (1 submission per person). All participants will be emailed a race bib to print and wear the day they walk/run. If your registration includes a t-shirt, you may pick it up at our Front Desk or call ahead and park for contactless delivery.  An ‘e-certificate’ of completion will be emailed at the conclusion of the race and winner’s medals sent via mail. Winners will be announced live Sunday, May 23 and through social media and our website.

5K (3.10 miles)

  • Run a 5K and submit your time.

10K (6.21 miles)

  • Run a 10K and submit your time.

J Challenge 15K (9.32 miles)

  • Run a 15K and submit your time.

How it Works: Scavenger Hunt

 

From May 12- May 22, 2021 you will be given an opportunity to complete your Scavenger Hunt. You may walk, jog or run to scavenge your way to the finish! The Scavenger Hunt will be emailed the night before the event. Be sure to start a timer on your phone and take pictures of each item on the list. Once you’ve finished finding all items on your Scavenger Hunt, screenshot your completed time and email your results along with your pictures to Jessica, jkichura@ssbjcc.org (1 submission per person).

An ‘e-certificate’ of completion will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the Scavenger Hunt and winner’s medals sent via mail. Winners will be announced live Sunday, May 23 and through social media and our website.
