The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) is now registering for The Larry Cubas Men’s League and Men’s 35 & Over Basketball League. Spring League registration is open to the community.

The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) is hosting a Mah Jongg Tournament on Sunday, March 15. The community is invited to participate in the event which benefits The JCC Scholarship Fund and will be held at the JCC, located at 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater, New Jersey. The registration fee is $50/person and includes morning coffee and deli lunch. Doors open at 8:45am and the tournament begins promptly at 9:30am. Tournament rules are provided by the Mah Jongg League. Participants are requested to register by March 4 by calling 908-725-6994 x201 or online at www.ssbjcc.org.

On Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 pm Jewish LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone) invites community members to attend the Third Annual A Night to Celebrate Israel. This event will benefit the community’s support of Israel Bonds and The State of Israel, and will be held at Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater.

The community is invited to attend a Family Carnival hosted at the JCC on Sunday, February 22 from 1-4pm. Children and adults with special needs are invited to attend the Carnival from 11:30am-12:30pm for a quieter experience. Jewish LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone), a community-wide Jewish adult education program serving residents of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties, will be hosting three special events in February. All programs are open to the community and will be held at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center, located at 775 Talamini Road in Bridgewater.

Unchained at Last is the only organization in the United States that is dedicated to helping women leave arranged and forced marriages and to preventing women from becoming trapped in such marriages. The organization envisions a world where every woman is free to choose whether, when and whom to marry and whether to leave a marriage. Ms. Reiss, who resides in New Jersey, will share her personal and powerful experiences. The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center’s Blaustein Early Childhood Center has been awarded $5,000 by Staples Foundation, the private charitable arm of Staples, Inc., under a program that lets Staples associates direct donations.
