LIFEGUARD
TRAINING CERTIFICATION FULL COURSE
The American
Red Cross Lifeguarding Program ensures that individuals are
trained with the knowledge and skills essential to the safety
and well being of swimming patrons. Participants will be trained
in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and
First Aid and Safety. A pretest will be administered before
the first class. Course fee includes all American Red Cross
fees, certification cards, books, and pocket mask. Attendance
at all class sessions is required for certification, with
no exception. Failure to pass the pretest will be result in
a 50 percent refund of the amount paid. After the pretest
there are no refunds. Final water and written examination
will take place on the last day of class. No retakes of the
final test are permitted to those that do not pass the first
time.
Prerequisite:
Must be 15 years of age by the date of the final exam for
the course, be able to swim 300 yards continuously. Starting
in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke,
surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return
to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with
the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps
within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

May 3rd, 2008 4-6pm at the Metrowest JCC West Orange, NJ
Sundays, 12:00-8:30PM (students will be given 40 minutes for
dinner)
Class dates: May 4, 11, 18 and June 1 at Bridgewater JCC
